scope:
The purpose of this guideline is to provide information about the qualifications applicable to a Competent Person tasked with conducting inspections of storage facilities and storage and retrieval machines in accordance with DIN EN 15635 and BGR 234, within the meaning of the Workplace Safety and Health Ordinance (BetrSichV).
This guideline does not cover the inspection of:
- industrial trucks
- fully-automatically operated (high) racking equipment
- storage facilities in means of transportation (commercial vehicles, railways, ships, aircraft)
The qualification of employees of an approved inspection centre (Zugelassene Überwachungsstelle or ZÜS) is not covered either.
