scope:

This guideline gives the user information relating to the planning of systems and units for workplace ventilation and their specific design for welders' workplaces and their vicinity.

Its application allows to estimate the scope of action to be taken to achieve compliance with the targeted protection as specified by the Arbeitsstättenverordnung (Workplace Ordinance), the Gefahrstoffverordnung (Hazardous-Substances Ordinance) in conjunction with the regulation "Arbeitsplatzlüftung" (BGR 121; "Workplace ventilation"), „Schweißrauche" (BGR 220; „Welding fumes"), „Betreiben von Arbeitsmitteln" (BGR 500; „Operate from working appliance"), see Annex A) issued by the employers' liability insurance association.
