scope:
This guideline enables the user to perform the main check of the methods of calculation used in programs for thermal and energy simulation of buildings, by calculating the test examples using the relevant simulation program and comparing with the results shown in the guideline. This guideline provides information on procedures by means of which further examples can be verified.
The guideline also defines the minimum requirements for methods of calculation with regard to algorithms and parameters which the program producer must guarantee if he refers to the guideline. The methods of calculation of the unsteady room characteristics in accordance with Section 5.2 were tested by the committee using programs which represent these methods. The named methods can be recommended provided they are implemented correctly in programs.
