This guideline recommends layouts for central electrical installation rooms with connected loads > 200 kW, for central safety engineering rooms, for IT and communication installations and for building automation and control.

It provides help to architects and planners in defining the dimensions and equipment of these rooms - which will subsequently be called ELT centrals - from the early stages of planning.

ELT centrals include rooms for the following types of equipment or plant:

  • high-voltage installations up to 30 kV
  • transformers
  • self-generation plants
  • low-voltage installation
  • telecommunications systems
  • IT systems
  • technical safety installations
  • building automation and control
