Objective and scope
This guideline applies to coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). In principle, however, it can also be applied to other measuring systems. The guideline describes a method for assessing a test procedure using coordinate measuring machines in terms of the test suitability. The characteristic "test suitability" serves for mutual matching of the measurement and manufacturing processes. It is not the basis for rules concerning product acceptance and rejection decisions. The pertinent rules (decision rules) are specified in ISO 14253-1.
