For the purpose of this guideline, air filters are understood to mean particle filters. Further separation techniques are also discussed.
The guideline applies to all air-handling systems for occupied zones intended to be used by occupants on more than 30 days per year, or for more than two hours per day on a regular basis.
It deals with the application of filters for air-handling systems such as:
• air-handling systems in residential and office areas
• air-handling systems in public buildings, service and business enterprises, schools, sports facilities, etc.
• air-handling systems in the health sector
• air-handling systems in pharmaceutics, laboratories and the food industry
• air-handling systems in the field of optics, precision mechanics and electronics
