scope:

This standard VDI 2463 Part 7 specifies equipment- related presets in respect of the active sampling for investigation of suspended particulate matter, dust ingredients, as well as selected gaseous substances (e.g. polychlorinated dioxins) in ambient and indoor air by means of a low-volume sampler (LVS). It sets the basic requirements of components as well as the admissible tolerances of the volumetric flow rate of the LVS (2,3 m3/h up to 3,0 m3/h) that can be implemented in the described operation mode and under application of a suitable sampling system (not included in the LVS) for reproducible sampling.

Implementation of active sampling for investigation of suspended particulate matter, dust ingredients as well as selected gaseous substances in ambient and indoor air implies the application of suitable sampling systems (described, e.g., in VDI 2267 Part 1, Part 2 and Part 12, VDI 2463 Part 8, VDI 2464 Part 1 and Part 2, VDI 2465 Part 1 und Part 2, VDI 3498 Part 2, VDI 4252 Part 2, VDI 4301 Part 2, DIN EN 12341, DIN EN 14902, DIN EN 15549 and DIN ISO 16000-13); this is not subject of this standard.
