scope:
This guideline specifies the requirements in terms of indoor conditions in classrooms and occupied rooms in general-education and vocational-training schools where students are taught or supervised on a regular basis. These conditions include the operative room temperature, room air humidity and chemical composition of the indoor air. The requirements are applicable to rooms with mechanical and natural ventilation. The topics light, room acoustics and interior design are not covered.
Additional legal provisions and technical specifications apply to special technical areas in school buildings (for instance laboratories, classrooms for natural sciences); such provisions and specifications are not addressed by this guideline.
