This Guideline applies to crane systems which are subject to the UVV Krane (Accident Prevention Regulations for Cranes) (VBG 9) and which are, for example, either semi-automatic or fully automatic in Operation. It is not used for robots, industrial trucks or overhead railways which are not covered by the UVV Krane.

Purpose

The purpose of this Guideline is to provide planners, manufacturers and operators with information on the planning and use of automated crane systems. It also describes the requirements to be met when using au¬ tomated crane systems.

These apply particularly to the crane runway with its supporting structure, the structural design of the crane and the mechanical and electrical equipment.
