Introduction

The purpose of the guideline is to inform the user about tools and about the appropriate, feasible, commercially available systems for automated order compilation and to provide ideas as to how automated Order compilation should best be implemented.

Definition: the guideline "Automated order compilation" is aimed at providing support in the decision in favour of automated order compilation and for the selection of suitable systems.

Its validity is restricted to order compilation. Neither automated storage nor conveyance of goods are the subject of this guideline.

Automated order compilation refers to the retrieval of a complete or part volume unit at a location from an Overall volume without human participation in the Order compilation process.
