scope:
On the basis of fundamental knowledge about manmachine interaction, this VDI standard deduces measures to increase the reliability of man-machine interaction and indicates opportunities for increase of safety. These measures are mostly related to the design of work tools according to human needs. Moreover, we will tackle the various training and educational aspects, which could decrease the incompatibility of the specifications of technical tools and the persons who use them, wherever technical tools cannot provide a solution at justifiable expense. Also, methods are indicated which can both identify weak points, which have to be improved and also validate the success of the measures taken.
