Motivation, purpose and scope of application

The motivation for using neuronal networks in automation stems from the realization that a series of daily tasks which present no problem whatever to biological brains cannot be solved using the most advanced computer technology. Although we are still far from understanding how the brain works, simple principles have already been discovered and used for carrying out technical projects, giving good results in many fields.

The purpose of this guideline is to provide industrial users of neuronal networks with a uniform basis for using the most important terms and to store the terms along with their definitions.

This guideline applies to the use of neuronal networks in industrial application.
