scope:
This guideline describes the testing of one- and multiple- thread hobs. It describes measuring instruments, measurement methods and analytical procedures used to record the parameters of the generating screw, the grooving screw and the profile. From a metrological perspective, hobs differ mainly by their profile. Involute profiles with chamfer and protuberance are of special significance.
This guideline takes into account the standards listed in the Bibliography.
