Publication Date: 1 September 2009
Status: inactive
Page Count: 50
ICS Code (Production in the chemical industry): 71.020
ICS Code (IT applications in industry): 35.240.50
scope:

The principal purpose of the present guideline is to harmonise and to bring forward the understanding of PAM for users and providers in the process industry.

Hitherto, from the perspective of the process industry, PAM, its terms, tasks, functions and benefits have not been specified in terms of a guideline, a standard, etc. The specification of these aspects is to facilitate the communication between providers and users.

This guideline mainly deals with assets (operating facilities) of the process industry, e. g. of the chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical and the food and beverage industry.

The manufacturing industry is not considered here, yet, discrete manufacturing processes as packaging lines in the pharma production are thoroughly included.

Subsequently, the term "asset management" and its application will be delineated from other contexts, e. g. property management or investment banking.
