Objective and scope

The purpose of this guideline is to specify generally applicable calibration methods for the calibration of measuring instruments for electrical quantities and to thus create a harmonized and supra-company basis for the monitoring of testing equipment.

The present Part 11 applies to spectrum analyzers (SA) and specifies methods for their calibration. It contains fundamental instructions for the calibration of such instruments, and the minimum requirements for a calibration are defined. Part 11 applies in conjunction with Part 1, "Fundamental principles" and Part 2, "Measurement uncertainty".

The standards and guidelines considered in this part are listed in the "Bibliography".
