scope:
The purpose of this guideline is to provide information about the qualifications applicable to a Competent Person tasked with conducting inspections of industrial trucks, attachments and trailers within the meaning of the Workplace Safety and Health Ordinance (BetrSichV).
This guideline does not cover the inspection of
- industrial trucks whose design makes them suitable for use on public roads,
- machines (equipment) mounted on a road vehicle chassis,
- mobile cranes,
- lifting platforms,
- storage and retrieval machines,
- construction machinery, or
- industrial trucks with telescopic jib or similar.
Qualification of the employees of an approved inspection centre (Zugelassene Überwachungsstelle or ZÜS) is not covered either.
