scope:
Emergency alarm management is the total of technical and organisational measures for processing an emergency alarm and rescuing persons from the lift. This includes measures required during operation of the system and any technical measures for preventing emergency situations.
The guideline applies to the assessment and comprehensive analysis of emergency alarm management systems for new and existing lifts.
Based on the requirements to be fulfilled by the operator in accordance with BetrSichV and TRBS 3121, guidance is given on the formulation of comprehensible technical and organisational requirements, thereby allowing the presentation of potential processes for emergency alarm management.
Operators, architects, building owners, specialist planners, installers and maintenance companies are provided means to check the processes they have planned for practicality. Weak points can thus be avoided and user safety, even in existing lifts, can be increased by the proper individual implementation.
Emergency alarm management also includes the planning and checking of the technical and organisational interfaces and associated activities, the respective verification management and the documentation of the function throughout the life cycle of the lifts.
Acts of God, natural disasters or suchlike can cause process interruptions or delays in the emergency alarm chain; these are not dealt with in this guideline.
