Area of application and purpose

A specimen project is at the centre of this VDI-guideline, which consists of real estate, including a building (Section 5). The specimen building is an administration building with mixed use. This specimen project serves solely in working through the various services and tasks, which arise within the scope of facility management and specifically in this case in the building management sector, and explaining the individual stages of the work. However, the individual stages of the work can be transferred to a wide range of other use functions. The stages of the work describe activities which arise during the use phase in order to achieve transparency in optimising the tasks involved in running the building.
