active, Most Current
Organization: VDI
Publication Date: 1 May 2012
Status: active
Page Count: 18
ICS Code (Packaging and distribution of goods in general): 55.020
ICS Code (Automatic identification and data capture techniques): 35.040.50
scope:

The rise in shoplifting is forcing retailers to take countermeasures, and protecting goods with electronic article surveillance systems (EAS systems) is a very promising approach. However, the additional labeling with security tags is leading to high costs for the retail industry.

The retail trade prefers so-called source protection as a means of overcoming these weaknesses in normal security concepts, with security devices being invisibly integrated into the product or its packaging during the actual production process, bringing lower unit costs and lower fitting costs. Broad sections of a range can also be protected, thereby improving the security quality.
