scope:
The purpose of this guideline is to provide uniform quality standards for bioclimate, air quality and noise, which can allow facilities to be recognised in the field of recreation, prevention, therapy and rehabilitation.
The guideline has been designed for people and institutions that are responsible for the quality assurance of facilities in terms of recreation, prevention, therapy and rehabilitation at different levels and in different functions, and that require uniform assessment principles for this.
There is further need for regulation and harmonisation beyond the German borders, which has arisen from the competitive situation in the field of recreation, prevention, therapy and rehabilitation within the European Union (EU).
Applications in terms of this guideline are:
• characterisation of the bioclimatic, air quality and noise related conditions
• assurance of bioclimatic conditions that support successful therapy
• encouragement of the use of the climate as a natural healing property
• prevention of air quality and noise related conditions that could impede successful therapy
• identification of stress concentrations and conflicts of objectives
• planning of facilities in terms of this guideline
• guarantee of the uniformity and comparability of procedures and methods
• guarantee of the technical qualifications of the institutions and experts involved
• assurance of quality and equivalency of the assessment results by providing appropriate test methods
