Introduction
The guideline aims at promoting process orientation in logistics. It is intended to form the basis for, and provide assistance in, the further development of inhouse processes in the course of the gradual changeover from function orientation to process orientation. The individual functions of logistics are related to the process as a whole in order to reveal the interdependencies. In addition to explaining terms, the guideline shows which elements of the overall process in a manufacturing company are main tasks, and which elements are tangent to logistic functions.
This process-oriented approach is considered as prerequisite to the locating of logistics. It is intended to stimulate and prompt simplifications. For this purpose, characteristic quantities are identified, which allow for an assessment.
