scope:
The primary objective of the guidelines VDI 3790 is to summarize
the application-specific
Guideline VDI 3790 Part 1 provides an overview of origin, characteristics and possibilities of quantification of emissions of gases, odours and dusts from diffuse sources. Guideline VDI 3790 Part 2 deals with landfills [T2]; Guideline VDI 3790 Part 3 deals with the storage, transshipment and transport of bulk materials [T3]. More equivalent guideline parts are scheduled as soon as reliable findings of further types of diffuse sources are available (e. g. waste water treatment plants, industrial sources).
Quantification of plant emissions may be necessary due to a variety of reasons. The following list contains examples.
• Plant related requirements according to BImSchG [G1], TA Luft [G2; G3]
- Realization of emissions and air pollution forecasts
- Drawing up of emission statements
- Requirements on the storage and the transshipment of dust-generating materials
- Assessment of complaints from the neighbourhood
• Area related requirements according to BImSchG [G1], in particular 22. BImSchV [G4]
- List of clean air plans and action plans
- Compilation of emission inventories
• Registration according to WHG [G5]
• Compulsory acquisition by state according to KrW-/AbfG [G6],
TA Siedlungsabfall (Technical Instructions on Waste from Human
Settlements) [G7] and Bundesbodenschutzges
- Emissions forecasts at landfills, completed landfills and abandoned waste disposal sites
• Requirements according to IVU-Guideline [G9]
• Environmental impact assessment according to UVPG [G10]
