Purpose and scope

VDI/VDE 2650 Part 6 lists the most important application-specific faults and fault conditions for pressure measurement devices and their priority from the users' point of view. The priorities indicated for each measurement method are meant as relative weightings. Priority 1 means often, Priority 4 means rare.

In this context application-specific faults may not be understood as device failures.

Fault conditions indicate deviations from the intended operating modes.

The technical feasibility of a diagnosis method has not been taken into consideration in the list of faults/fault conditions. No statements are made here about the cost-value ratio of a specific diagnosis method.

Note: There are some differences between the faults and fault conditions for pressure measurements methods list here and those list in the NAMUR recommendation NE 107 (2006-02) due to the different points in time of discussion and publication.
