Ventilation and indoor-air quality - Assessment of indoor-air quality

active, Most Current
Organization: VDI
Publication Date: 1 July 2011
Status: active
Page Count: 74
ICS Code (Ambient atmospheres): 13.040.20
ICS Code (Ventilation and air-conditioning systems): 91.140.30
scope:

This part of the series of guidelines is intended for use in assessing indoor-air quality. The building operator applying it is supposed to obtain reliable information about the indoor-air quality, which will help him in his assuming responsibility towards the occupants. The guideline is intended for use where indoor-air qualities are agreed with planners by contract, and in verifying compliance with target values.

This guideline applies to rooms intended for extended human occupancy, i.e. rooms occupied by humans for more than 30 days per year or more than two hours per day on a regular basis. The guideline applies to all stationary occupied rooms, excepting rooms whose indoor-air quality is significantly influenced by a production process or where a production process requires individual parameters to deviate from this guideline, e.g. shop floors, kitchens and swimming baths. However, some parameters of this guideline can still be used for assessing the indoor-air quality in such rooms.

In particular, no sole responsibility of ventilation and air-conditioning systems for compliance with the assessment values can be inferred from this guideline.
