The present standard is concerned with emissions during the heat-treatment of potatoes in the industrial sector in relation to the resultant emissions into the atmosphere and the state-of-the-art methods for avoiding and reducing them.
The standard also presents substance flows and inplant methods
for avoiding and reducing emissions. Providing a technical
overview, it serves as a working guide to public authorities,
associations, installation designers and the relevant firms. It
also draws attention to emissions, quantitative indicators and
energy analyses, as well as presenting existing authorisation

The standard covers not only the processing of potatoes for human nutrition, but also installations for the sterilisation of potatoes (sterile products) in closed vessels. It also briefly describes the production process for the main product groups and the resultant emissions. This standard does not extend to the production of alcohol.
