scope:

This standard specifies the product data exchange in the computer-based planning process of the Building Services for the product range "General Components and accessories", on the basis of the standard VDI 3805 Part 1.

It describes the data exchange of system components for which (as yet) no dedicated part exists in the VDI 3805 Series of Standards. The general product description provided here allows the selection of components in electronic data processing systems, the management of article numbers, the specification of accessories and the comprehensive description of the geometry of the components for CAD systems.

The indication of operating points and material properties in this general product description also allows a recalculation of the system.

However, specific technical design solutions for the components will not be possible until a dedicated part in the series of standards is available for the respective product group.
