scope:

The standard is intended for practitioners mainly from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in services and production wishing to make use of findings and experiences about PIUS in modernisation and planning of their production processes and plants. This standard shows ways of process optimisation that have both positive ecological and economic effects for the enterprise and help maintain or improve product quality.

The standard provides especially SMEs with the chance of evaluating and optimising their production processes in terms of PIUS.

The standard has been organised in such a way as to facilitate an easy referencing to existing business management systems. The application of this standard also contributes to a continuous improvement process (CIP) in the company.
