This guideline applies to the recovery of sulphur from gases with compounds containing sulphur in Claus units and to downstream waste gas cleaning units.

Reference is made to the specific laws, regulations and provisions, administrative or otherwise, applicable to the construction and operation of the facilities in question (see Bibliography).

All volumes referred to in this guideline are based on the standard state (273 K, 1013 hPa) minus the water vapour content. A special note is made of any exceptions.
