This standard defines the interface between planners, users and manufacturers of AGVS with respect to both the input and outcome of simulations.

In this way, the standard is to harmonise the simulation of AGVS with respect to its input data and increase the comparability of the results achieved by means of different simulations. In order to achieve this, a clear and detailed definition of the input data, which represent the interface between users, planners and manufacturers, is provided.

Moreover, the standard facilitates the evaluation of simulation results and improves their significance. This, in particular, is to assist manufacturers of AGVS with the designing of plants and/or bid preparations (see Figure 2).
