scope:
This guideline describes procedures for testing the performance of articulated-arm CMMs for tactile probing. It applies to:
• acceptance tests serving to verify conformance of the CMM and its probe with the manufacturer's specifications
• reverification tests performed by the user for periodical checking of the articulated-arm CMM and its probe
• interim checks performed by the user for monitoring the articulated-arm CMM and its probe in-between reverification tests
The tests are applicable to articulated-arm CMMs having at least four axes, not counting any redundant axes (see also Section 2).
