scope:
This guideline provides practical instructions for the users to determine in a simple manner the measurement uncertainty of the analysis methods they are using. Analysis methods from the following parts of the series of guidelines VDI 2100 are used for this purpose:
Part 2 Active sampling by accumulation on activated charcoal; Solvent extraction
Part 3 Active sampling by accumulation on sorbents; Thermal desorption
Part 5 Determination of volatile compounds, especially ozone precursors
This section implies that all of the analytical methods dealt with in this guideline have been introduced in a fully documented procedure. Any general reference to analytical methods requires that such methods exist. Strictly speaking, the measurement uncertainty can only be related to the results of such a procedure and not to a generalized measurement procedure.
The measurement uncertainties described in Annex A were determined by correspondingly qualified test facilities. They may not be used without any own verification or validation.
