Scope and purpose
Part 1 of this guideline applies to ventilation and air conditioning systems in accordance with DIN 1946-1 in gravure printing works for illustration and packaging gravure printing. Further parts of the guideline for other printing processes are planned.
The subject of this guideline is ventilation and air conditioning systems in operating rooms. The known regulations apply to offices and administrative rooms. The process air in conjunction with the enclosure of gravure printing presses is dealt with only at the interfaces to the ventilation and air conditioning system.
The ventilation equipment should not be dimensioned on the basis of empirical values, e.g. air change, but instead according to the anticipated substance and heat loads. To do this, it is necessary at the planning stage to take account of the released loads as well as the boundary conditions of production and space.
By means of examples of calculations, the guideline shows how the airflows can be determined. The ventilation systems are to be completely designed in accordance with these.
Carefully planned and executed ventilation systems improve not only the quality of the air at the workplace but also reduce the necessary capital and operating costs of plants.
