Purpose and Extent
It is the purpose of the acceptance guideline to define the acceptance measurements in the sense of a confirmation of the design-appropriate and safety-related properties of the control system of steam turbines.
The extent of the acceptance measurements depends upon assurances settled within the frame of the supply agreement and on the safety-related necessities.
The acceptances in the sense of this guideline, to he obtained during the first operational run, refer to measures proving the functional integrity of the turbine control system (see Section 3) and assuring the compliance- with the maximum allowable overspeed in case of load changes or perturbations (see Section 4) as well as to the discernment of the controlled dynamic behaviour of the turboset (see Section 5).
Feedforward-control systems are covered by this guideline insofar as they complement the control sys-tems dealt with, i.e. for limiting or switch-off interaction in case of mime transgressions and malfunction.
The guideline concerns essentially speed, power, and pressure controllers coupled to generators. it may be appropriately extended to steam turbines serving other purposes.
