The aim of acceptance is to verify that the contracts for supplies and services as concluded between purchaser and supplier have been complied with free from defects and observing legal regulations. Vague and flawed wording in purchase orders, in particular for complex automated guided vehicle systems, leads to uncertainties during the entire period of processing, from order placement up to the final acceptance of the supplies and services. These uncertainties cause avoidable difficulties and costs on both sides.

This standard describes aspects and rules to be considered in supplying automated guided vehicle systems. This includes the most important technical aspects which shall be taken into account as early as the order is placed to allow an acceptance without any problems. This standard may therefore be used as instructions for the execution of the acceptance steps.
