scope:

The guideline series VDI 3814 "Building automation and control systems" applies to equipment, software and services for automatic control and regulation, monitoring and optimisation as well as operation and management for the energy-efficient, economic and reliable operation of technical building services. As the International Standard series DIN EN ISO 16484 for building automation does not contain all the regional requirements, VDI 3814 takes over the task of defining the usual requirements for BAC systems in Central Europe which extend beyond the standard named above (exception: Requirements for electrical safety).

This guideline VDI 3814 Part 2 lists the relevant acts, ordinances and technical rules without claiming to be exhaustive. The other parts of the guideline VDI 3814 series, therefore, do not contain a bibliography. The listing is structured according to DIN 276 bearing in mind to the users of the guideline. Some documents are therefore referenced several times. This guideline should therefore give specialist planners, clients, representatives of authorities and contractors the opportunity to obtain an overview of the regulations which need to be observed with reference to building referenced.
