Realization and documentation of sheet metal forming simulation - System requirements

active, Most Current
Organization: VDI
Publication Date: 1 April 2013
Status: active
Page Count: 28
ICS Code (Chipless working equipment in general): 25.120.01
ICS Code (Technical product documentation): 01.110
scope:

The guideline addresses persons having knowledge of sheet metal forming simulation, who place orders for simulation studies or, as service providers, perform such studies and have to document simulations for the orderer. It is thus an essential aid to the communication between these two partners, and contributes to efficient processing of simulation projects.

This guideline is intended to allow harmonised and comparable assessment of sheet metal forming FEM simulations and to facilitate the cooperation between users and suppliers, in-house or external, of simulation services. Thanks to standardization, simulation findings can be assessed in a reproducible way, allowing qualitative comparison.

The system requirement describes the users/ orderers requirements with respect to the scope of supplies and services to be met by the documentation of sheet metal forming simulation. It is meant to assist the user in specifying the requirements. The suggested documentation of simulations is to be regarded as a framework comprising the essential aspects.

Depending on the project, individual items can be added or omitted.
