This guideline covers the generation and control of emissions from carbothermic and metallothermic production methods as currently applied in the ferroalloy and silicon metal industry.

Reference is made to the laws, ordinances, administrative and other regulations applicable to the construction and operation of the facilities covered by this guideline (in particular AbwAG, AbwV, BImSchG, 4. BImSchV, 9. BImSchV, 11. BImSchV, 22. BImSchV, BGR 104, ChemG, GefStoffV, KrW-/ AbfG, NachwV, TA Luft, TRGS 900, TRGS 905, TRGS 906, VAwS, WHG).

Unless expressly stated otherwise, all gas volumes indicated in this guideline relate to standard temperature and pressure conditions (273,15 K; 1013 hPa) after deduction of the water vapour content.
