scope:
Application
The method may be applied in all those cases in which a comparative assessment of the role of com¬ plex environmental pollution in material corrosion is needed. The ränge of feasible apphcations shall be illustrated by following examples:
- Inventory of corrosive atmospheres
in a region
in the immediate environment of art objects
on objects requiring measurements according
to Paragraphs 45 and 47 of the Federal Air
Pollution, Noise, and Vibration Control Law
- Determination of effects on objects and parts of objects (e.g. front of a building; one of the goals: location of highly endangered parts)
- Comparison of effects determined with different corrosion testing equipment and testing Parameters
- Mapping of the distribution of corrosive conditions within test Chambers
- Inventory of effects in rooms and small premises (e.g. exposure in rooms and in Containers in the museum)
- Assessment of the efficiency of protective measures (e.g. degree of protection of church windows by Installation of external protective glazings)
