Over the last few years, we have often questioned whether yet another book on business process improvement is truly needed. After all, it appears that new books on the subject are published almost every week! Nevertheless, as we surveyed the increasingly rich array of publications on the subject, we began to realize that we have several business process leadership experiences, observations, and ideas that might be of interest and value to others. Consequently, the purpose of this book is to offer people who have responsibility for driving business process improvement, or who are engaged in such efforts-from large-scale transformational change to small-scale incremental changes-what we hope are some refreshing new insights and perspectives on how Six Sigma Process Management can be used to achieve business process leadership.
