scope:

This Standard method describes procedures for preparing, treating, conditioning and testing wood stakes treated with preservative and chemical wood modification systems. With appropriate adjustments, it may also be used to test other methods of wood protection and natural durability. The resulting ratings can be used to estimate the expected relative performance of the test preservative compared to established preservatives. This test method is intended to provide information for standardization of protection treatments. It may also be useful as a screening test.
