This document provides guidance and criteria for the inspection of boilers and unfired pressure vessels. For maximum benefit, it should be used in conjunction with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), and National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspection, NB-23, National Board Inspection Code. In general, this document established standards for the inspection of boilers and pressure vessels provided in areas where there are no industry standards. The document is directed toward those persons who operate, maintain and inspect boilers and unfired pressure vessels.
