Die ATV DIN 18331 „Betonarbeiten" gilt für das Herstellen von Bauteilen aus bewehrtem oder unbewehrtem Beton. 

Die ATV DIN 18331 gilt nicht für

- Einpressarbeiten (siehe ATV DIN 18309 „Einpressarbeiten"), 

- Schlitzwandarbeiten (siehe ATV DIN 18313 „Schlitzwandarbeiten mit stützenden Flüssigkeiten"), 

- Spritzbetonarbeiten (siehe ATV DIN 18314 „Spritzbetonarbeiten"), 

- Oberbauschichten mit hydraulischen Bindemitteln (siehe ATV DIN 18316 „Verkehrswegebauarbeiten

- Oberbauschichten mit hydraulischen Bindemitteln"), 

- Betonwerksteinarbeiten (siehe ATV DIN 18333 „Betonwerksteinarbeiten"), 

- Betonerhaltungsarbeiten (siehe ATV DIN 18349 „Betonerhaltungsarbeiten") sowie

- Stahlbauarbeiten (siehe ATV DIN 18335 „Stahlbauarbeiten"). 

Ergänzend gilt die ATV DIN 18299 „Allgemeine Regelungen für Bauarbeiten jeder Art", Abschnitte 1 bis 5. Bei Widersprüchen gehen die Regelungen der ATV DIN 18331 vor.
