Diese Norm gilt in Verbindung mit DIN EN 1856-2 und legt Maße für starre Verbindungsstücke und Formstücke fest. Sie gilt für Verbindungsstücke in Gebäuden zum Abführen von Abgasen aus Feuerstätten im Unterdruckbetrieb bei bestimmungsgemäßem Betrieb und bei trockener Betriebsweise im Bereich des Verbindungsstückes. Die Festlegungen der DIN EN 1856-2 gelten vollumfänglich.
