Index of Network Rail Documents Relating to Signalling & Communications Equipment
| Organization: | NR |
| Publication Date: | 5 September 2015 |
| Status: | inactive |
| Page Count: | 74 |
scope:
The standard provides best practice and should be applied to all new works and alterations to existing installations. This is not a mandatory standard and users should check compliance to current Railway Group and Company standards before implementing the design.
Any deviation from typical circuits should be justified and documented by the relevant signal designer. There is no need to follow the established variation process.
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to provide signal engineers a standardised approach to signalling design. This prevents additional costs being incurred when a design solution already exists and assists maintainers when fault finding.
The standard includes a listing of typical circuits for signalling and level crossing applications.
