scope:
This VDI Standard allows to specify design points (summer and winter) for air temperature t, water vapour content x, and enthalpy h, to be used in the calculation of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems in Europe, and can serve as a basis for the analysis of annual energy consumption ac cording to the single-frequency method.
In addition to information regarding the t,x correlations, a wind statistic including wind speeds and wind directions is provided for each station, thus delivering insight into any non-standard heat transfer conditions to be expected.
At any rate, the data are important for CFD simulations, e. g. of airflows around buildings.
Strictly speaking, the meteorological data in this standard only apply to the immediate vicinity of the stations stated.
Note that the place names refer to the closeness to the geographical location of the station. Any meteorological differences near a building as compared to the station are to be examined locally.
The applicability of the respective measuring stations to the sites under investigation is to be checked taking into account the information in Section 5.2. The attached data carrier is helpful in that it allows to show the actual location of the station.
