Organization: DIN
Publication Date: 1 December 2012
Status: active
Page Count: 10
ICS Code (Shafts): 21.120.10
scope:

This standard deals with proving the strength of shafts and axles. It determines the material parameters required for proving the strength according to DIN 743-1. Users can make use of their own experience or data.

This standard applies to ultimate strength values for the temperature range - 40 °C ≤ ϑ ≤ 150 °C. For temperatures above ϑ = 150 °C the ultimate strength values drop by more than 10 % and temperaturedependent ultimate strength values are required to be taken into account.

The ultimate strength values are valid for the frequency range up to 100 Hz.

The fatigue strength values are valid for the ultimate number of load cycles NG= 107.

No difference is made between rotational bending and flat bending. The fatigue strength values have been given for the more unfavourable rotational bending.
