This Recommendation addresses the important technical and operational characteristics of meteorological radars, describes the related products provided, highlights their major specificities, discusses the effects of interference on meteorological radars and develops related interference protection criteria. This text is limited to ground-based weather radars and does not include wind profiler radars, also used for meteorological purposes, which are covered in a separate ITU-R Recommendation
