These Guidelines envisage primarily structural integrity of yacht's hull made of metallic materials or fiber reinforced polymer composites including structural components listed in 3.2. Any note in this Guideline addressing issues other than structural integrity is to be considered as recommendation or guidance to designer, builder, owner, et al.

Design of wooden hulls will be treated individually. 

Aspects which go beyond the scope of a structural design assessment are written in Italics, and may yet serve as reference and/or recommendation.

The requirements of these Guidelines do not substitute the independent judgment of professional designers. This is particularly valid for those aspects not addressed in these Guidelines and for which the designers are solely responsible.
