PURPOSE

1. The purpose of this standard is to standardize the maximum sizes for maps, aeronautical charts and other geospatial products (excluding nautical charts) produced by NATO nations for their armed forces, such that:

a. Interoperability is assured between those nations and the NATO Command Structure who are required to print geospatial products.

b. Map storage and field distribution facilities between nations and NATO Command structure elements/HQ during peace, crises and war time is ensured.
