This Standard applies to LU and its suppliers. The standard outlines how health and safety risks and environmental impacts will be assessed and controlled. Details of the arrangements to be adopted within LU are contained within the supporting Category 5 standards.
Purpose
The purpose of this Standard is to specify the requirement to:
identify, assess and manage health and safety risks to ensure they are reduced to as low as is reasonably practicable (ALARP),
Identify and assess environmental impacts to ensure that the principles associated with best available technique (BAT) are applied,
Maintain, develop and use the LU Quantified Risk Assessment (QRA) which communicates understanding of the risk from major hazards with the potential to cause fatality to LU customers and other members of the public and assists in managing those risks.
